译文
我爱青山，愿与它相伴；我爱白云，想让它相陪。做梦也梦不到穿上紫罗袍系了黄金带。只要有一间茅屋，四周围野花盛开，管他谁家兴旺，谁家衰败。过着穷日子，我也挺愉快。贫穷时，骨气不丢；富贵了，志气不改。
注释
紫罗袍：古代高级官员的服装。
陋巷箪瓢：《论语·雍也》：“一箪食，一瓢饮，在陋巷，人不堪其忧，回也不改其乐。”
“贫，气不改”二句：《论语·学而》：“贫而无谄，富而无骄。”《论语·子罕》：“三军可夺帅也，匹夫不可夺志也。”《孟子·滕文公下》：“富贵不能淫，贫贱不能移，威武不能屈，此之谓大丈夫”。这两句话，是上述引文的概括。
山坡羊·道情鉴赏
此是一首言志曲。它表达出了作者的一片浩然之气，真正达到了“贫贱不能移”、“富贵不能淫”的境界。不管谁人成败(无力改变,并非消极避世)，谁兴帝业，我绝不依附，永葆自由之身。
